Having a real estate license in inactive status means that you cannot do professional real estate activity as defined in ORS 696.010.
If it has been 30 days or less since you inactivated your license and you are switching principal brokers, you may change your license to active status by submitting to the Agency:
- a license transfer form
- the required fee
If your license has been inactive for less than two years, you may change your license to active status by:
- completing 30 hours of continuing education in the two years prior to reactivating your license
- submitting a reactivate license form
- submitting the required fee
If your license has been inactive for two or more years, you may change your license to active status by:
- completing 30 hours of continuing education in the two years prior to reactivating your license
- submitting a reactivation exam application with the required fee to the Agency
- taking and pass the reactivation exam
- submitting a reactivate license form to the Agency
- submitting the required fee to the Agency
If you intend to change license category (e.g. broker to principal broker) when you reactivate your license, contact the Agency’s Licensing Division to learn the requirements for your specific situation.
